Using CRM for retail is something that many companies have been doing for awhile now. Nowadays, especially considering the fact that the world economy is not as strong as it once was, businesses need to do everything they can to boost sales and to restore spender confidence in them. Using CRM for retail can really help accomplish these goals on several different scales.

You might think that this is a mute point really, considering the fact that relationships happen face to face, not electronically, right? Of course, people see each other at work or at school, but are many people getting together in person like they used to? You are much more likely to see someone texting their friend on their cell phone than you are to see two friends meeting up for a swim at the local creek.

So, there is little wonder then why companies believe that they can build relationships using technology instead of sheer manpower. Face it… companies cannot afford to have employees hang out with the customers, spending quality time and fostering relationships. But, with the use of CRM systems, they can keep in touch digitally… and this is not only a one way street.
Utilizing CRM for retail means that the customers get a face and a say in this relationship. Customers have more control than ever. They can leave feedback, let companies know how they feel about the products or services they offer, can write reviews directly from their cell phone, and in a way, can completely shape the destiny of a company. If a lot of customers disapprove of how the company does business, they will blanket the internet with negative reviews, really hurting the company’s chances of succeeding.
